‘Enzo Barrenechea shares cryptic message’ amid Aston Villa exit twist

Enzo Barrenechea has an uncertain future at Aston Villa.

The Argentina international signed for the Villans 12 months ago as part of a swap deal with Juventus, which saw Douglas Luiz go the other way.

There was no chance in the first team in a domestic setting in his debut season, despite a positive pre-season, as the 24-year-old spent the year at Valencia.

With a Villa Park return now in the pipeline at the end of that loan spell, a departure could once again be on the cards after a questionable social media post.

Barrenechea shares post amid Aston Villa exit links

It is fair to say that many supporters in B6 are keen to keep hold of the midfielder to see what he can do in the Premier League.

After a campaign working under Carlos Corberan, returning to the Midlands to work with Unai Emery could help get the best oPreparing for what’s comingut of the left-footed ace.

With that being said, Barrenecha has been linked away from Villa, with a move to Real Betis spoken about at this early stage of the summer window [ElDesmarque, 25 June].

The LaLiga outfit aren’t the only interested party, with the claret and blue outfit inundated with potential exit routes for the Argentine.

There is every chance that a departure could be edging closer, or the defensive midfielder may feel as if he has a point to prove at Villa Park based on his latest Instagram post (3 July).

This saw the former Frosinone loanee share images of himself in training with Valencia, accompanied by the caption, “Preparing for what’s coming.”

It is unclear whether this refers to a return to LaLiga or what could happen at Bodymoor Heath in the summer and beyond.

Aston Villa must show faith in Barrenechea

With the level of interest and the number of positive reviews in the man signed from Juventus, it would represent a risk to sell him at this point.

As a backup option for the likes of Boubacar Kamara and Amadou Onana, there may not be many better options available to Emery and Co.

With that being said, this sort of cryptic message may not go down well in B6, especially if plans have already been drawn up for the Valencia loanee.

It will now be interesting to see what happens and what this post is alluding to as the calendar continues to edge towards opening day against Newcastle United.
