‘Aston Villa delighted to accept £15m for Lucas Digne’ as Mourinho update drops
Lucas Digne could depart Aston Villa in a summer move to follow in Jose Mourinho’s footsteps.
The France international has been linked with a Villa Park exit as the Villans look to streamline their squad ready for the new campaign.
This is also with a view to improving the wage structure at Bodymoor Heath, and the 31-year-old represents one of the higher earners in B6.
As a result, a deal could be agreed that could see Digne emulate Mourinho with a move as the window continues to raise questions in the Midlands.

Digne could join Mourinho with Aston Villa exit
It did feel towards the end of the campaign that Ian Maatsen had made the left-back role his own with some top performances.
This saw the Netherlands international net against Newcastle United in arguably his best showing of what had been a difficult debut year at times.

As a result, a departure for his French counterpart could make complete sense if the right offer comes in away from B6.
The latest side to showcase an interest in Digne is Turkish giants Galatasaray [Footmercato, 25 June], maintaining their interest from nearly 12 months ago.
Former Brentford and Leicester City boss Martin Allen believes a move to the Super Lig could land the ex-Everton man a sizable contract, in a similar fashion to Mourinho at Fenerbahce.
Speaking exclusively Villa News, Allen said: “Mourinho hasn’t gone to Turkyie for no reason, there’s a lot of money out there.
“He’s a funny player, Digne. I thought Villa paid too much for him at around £30m.
“I’m just not sure that he’s good enough defensively and Emery wasn’t putting him in the team towards the end of the season.
“That shows that he doesn’t really fancy Digne at all right now.
“He will be one that is worth something, if they could get £15m or £20m they will be absolutely delighted.“

Digne could soon agree Galatasaray transfer
Gala haven’t been shy in their interest in the Midlands, having also eyed Emi Martinez at this early stage of the transfer window.
With that being said, a deal for the French defender may be more likely, as it feels as if Monchi will want to get him off the books if the right offer comes in.
It will be interesting to see where the future lies for Digne and whether he will agree to an exit in the coming weeks before the season begins.
