‘Marco Asensio to Aston Villa already done deal’ ahead of July 1 – Exclusive
Aston Villa may be set to confirm the permanent signing of Marco Asensio after 1 July.
The Spain international was an instant hit after joining the Villans on an initial six-month loan deal from eventual Champions League winners PSG.
Despite a drop in form towards the end of the season for the 29-year-old, it is fair to say that he established himself as an Unai Emery favourite.
As a result, a permanent deal could be in the pipeline for Asensio at Villa Park, which could be delayed until the end of the month rolls around.

Asensio to join Aston Villa on permanent deal
The loan signings of the attacking midfielder, who has himself won three Champions League with Real Madrid, and Marcus Rashford were supposed to inspire Villa to earn Champions League qualification last season.
Although that didn’t come off, it has to be said that both temporary stars had positive moments, which helped push the Villans forward.
Stat | Marco Asensio | Marcus Rashford |
Appearances | 21 | 17 |
Goals | 8 | 4 |
Assists | 1 | 5 |
Without their impact, the campaign could have been much different and may have fizzled out long before the controversial Manchester United defeat.
As a result, bringing them back on permanent deals could prove to be wise, with Asensio seemingly edging closer to a B6 return.
This is according to former Brentford and Leicester City boss Martin Allen, who believes a deal may already be done with Villa awaiting the 1 July to announce the agreement.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Allen said: “PSG will be looking to cash in and bring some money in for financial fair play.
“Even if they are super rich, as PSG are, they’ve changed their strategy to bring in younger, more mobile players.
“Asensio and players like that will have to be sold to get their wages back, rather than paying them every month.
“He did very well at Aston Villa, and he certainly improved them, so they will be keen to do a deal.
“They may have already done a deal because sometimes they leave it until 1 July, then do the deal for their finances.“

Asensio deal to represent coup for Aston Villa
If Villa were to land the signing of the former Real Madrid man, despite some fan discontent, there is no doubt that it is a huge move at Villa Park.
The three-time Champions League winner has a unique ability with the ball at his feet, is excellent at picking a pass and ghosts into areas to find space and create chances.
This talent is something that doesn’t always come up in the window and could represent an excellent opportunity for the Villans.
If the deal was to go through, Emery would have to work out how to get the best out of the Spaniard and Morgan Rogers, who did struggle at times alongside his fellow attacking midfielder.
