Man United seething as Aston Villa ‘to push now for Garnacho transfer’
Aston Villa’s pursuit of Manchester United ace Alejandro Garnacho has been one of the main transfer stories of the summer so far at Villa Park.
The Villans have earmarked the Argentine youngster as a player who would add further quality to Unai Emery’s squad, but it hasn’t proven easy for them to work towards a deal so far.
Villa had been dealt a blow by Manchester United’s demands of £70million for Garnacho, given that their PSR situation seems set to badly hinder their ability to spend ahead of the upcoming campaign.
They desperately need a replacement for Marcus Rashford, with the England international having returned to Old Trafford, and Villa seem determined to ensure that Garnacho becomes their next star.

Villa to push for ‘cut-price’ Garnacho deal as Man Utd rage
Garnacho recently posted a picture on Instagram of him wearing a Villa shirt with Rashford on the back, amid near-constant links of his Red Devils departure.
That stunt was likely intended to draw a reaction from his club, and that has now seemingly been achieved.
United’s hierarchy are said to be “seething” with the youngster, according to The Daily Star (25 June).
It is understood that the wideman has been told he is a “misfit” at the club, and after the recent controversial incident, it has now been revealed that Jim Ratcliffe may even be prepared to lower the asking price for Garnacho in order to get him out.
That news should come as music to Villa’s ears. They may have been priced out of a move by United’s previous demands, but they should now be accelerating their interest right now following this update.
Villa should do everything they can to ensure they pounce on the opportunity to bring Garnacho in for a cut-price fee, and make the most of United’s frustration with their academy graduate.

Villa need a conclusion to the Garnacho saga
Villa have had plenty of dealings with United this summer, as Rashford and Jadon Sancho have both been linked with moves, while Emi Martinez seemingly has his heart set on a switch in the other direction.
However, the saga regarding Garnacho’s future is something that Monchi and Co. need a conclusion to, whatever the ultimate outcome may be.
Season | Apps | Goals | Assists |
2024/25 | 58 | 11 | 10 |
2023/24 | 50 | 10 | 5 |
2022/23 | 34 | 5 | 4 |
Despite the Argentina international’s inconsistency, Villa have maintained their pursuit for several weeks now, but it is getting to the stage where they either need to work harder to get a deal over the line, or turn their attention elsewhere.
At the moment, they are constantly reacting to United’s stances, and that could easily see them left without a new addition on the flanks, if their Garnacho chase prevents from them from working on other targets.
The B6 outfit need to weigh up how badly they want Garnacho and either stump up the cash, or admit defeat on this occasion.
