Agbonlahor cannot believe Ramsey transfer news at Aston Villa and Newcastle
Aston Villa find themselves in a difficult position this summer, as a result of missing out on Champions League football.
The last day of the Premier League campaign saw Villa finish sixth in the table and now, PSR restrictions are hanging over NSWE.
As a result, Unai Emery will likely be forced to sell players to bring some fresh funds into Villa Park.

Emery warned off key Aston Villa sale
With it being PSR restrictions that are going to be holding Aston Villa back, they must be smart in their business this summer.
As a result of this, one man who has been linked with a move away from the West Midlands is Jacob Ramsey.
Ramsey came up through the Bodymoor Heath Academy, so his sale would be purely profit for the Villans and help them get in a better place to fight their PSR concerns.
Although the 24-year-old is a popular figure among supporters at Villa Park, it has not been the easiest of seasons for him.
Competition | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Premier League | 29 | 1 | 5 |
Champions League | 10 | 1 | 2 |
Domestic Cup Competitions | 6 | 2 | 0 |
Of his 29 Premier League appearances, 19 of those were starts as an injury and the emergence of Marco Asensio kept him out of the squad.
Now, the midfielder has been linked with a move to Newcastle United, but Gabby Agbonlahor is not happy at the suggested price.
During talkSPORT’s transfer tinder section (25 June, 7:57 am), when asked about the potential move for £30million, Agbonlahor was outraged as he replied: “You say 30? What’s that, like per year? 30? No way, no way.
“If they’re selling Jacob Ramsey, they’re going to want 60, 70s, so forget about it, left. Let’s move on. 30 million?”
Ramsey may need to be Aston Villa sacrifice
The debate over Ramsey’s future at Aston Villa is a difficult one.
The midfielder certainly is popular in the West Midlands, and in an ideal world, Villa would be worth keeping hold of him.
However, this season, the 24-year-old did fall out of favour somewhat and if the Claret and Blue side do need to cash in on some players, then financially this would pay off.
It is a highlight of how impactful not finishing in the Champions League can be for a side, but Emery’s men must make the most of the situation to ensure it doesn’t do long-term damage.
As Agbonlahor says, though, if Aston Villa are preparing to cash in this summer, then they could well try their luck starting at a higher price to try and maximise the income they get.
