Aston Villa to bank millions in pure PSR profit as Kesler-Hayden exit lined up
Aston Villa are looking to sell a big-name player before 30 June to avoid falling foul of profit and sustainability rules (PSR).
It’s widely believed that Aston Villa need to sell someone before this deadline or they will risk a Premier League points deduction.
Emi Martinez and Leon Bailey are among those linked with big-money exits. However, a bid for young defender Kaine Kesler-Hayden could also help to fix the balance sheet.

Middlesbrough prepare £3million bid for Kesler-Hayden
Kaine Kesler-Hayden has been considered a future star at Aston Villa for some time now.
For the last four years, he has been sent out on loan deals. He has performed admirably for the likes of Preston, Plymouth and Huddersfield, and he’s still only 22.
However, the Daily Telegraph reports (21 June) that Middlesbrough are reportedly lining up a £3million bid for the defender. That offer could prove too much for Villa to resist, particularly during this time of PSR doubts.
Since Kesler-Hayden is a home-grown player, the sale would represent £3m of pure profit to add to the balance sheet. It would therefore potentially be a huge benefit to both clubs if the transfer could be forced through this week.

Aston Villa fans should brace themselves for a big-name departure
Kesler-Hayden has proven himself as a capable defender at Championship level, but there is little sign of him turning into a world-beater.
If Middlesbrough do make a £3m bid for his services, the Villans would be well advised to bite their hands off.
However, they may still have to offload one of their biggest stars.

Martinez is the name most heavily linked with a move away from Villa Park, although there are rumblings around Bailey and Morgan Rogers.
Villa should be looking to build an improved team capable of getting back in the Champions League this season. Instead, they are likely focusing all their energy on balancing the books before the 30 June PSR deadline.
It’s a frustrating scenario, and Villa chiefs will likely want a deal done as soon as possible so they can begin to focus on creating a brighter future.
