Aston Villa to ‘seal Adrien Truffert transfer’ after Robertson twist at Liverpool
Aston Villa could be forced to curb their interest in Liverpool star Andy Robertson.
Unai Emery is believed to be in the market for a new left-back with Lucas Digne and Ian Maatsen failing to impress the Spaniard.
The Scotsman’s future with the Premier League champions is uncertain as they are interested in Bournemouth ace Milos Kerkez.
However, the Villans have been handed a twist in their pursuit of the Anfield hero.

Robertson set to stay at Liverpool amid Aston Villa interest
The Villa Park outfit may struggle to bring the 32-year-old to the West Midlands, considering Arne Slot’s stance on an exit.
Former Leicester City and Brentford manager Martin Allen questioned whether a move to the Villans would make sense for either party.
Speaking to Liverpool News (25 May), he said: “I’m not sure that Liverpool would want to sell him at this point, with the fact that they’re going to be in the Champions League and all the other competitions they’re going to play in.
“Maybe it could work in a year, when he’s a bit older.
“For Aston Villa, would he improve their team? I think he would. That would be a big outlay for a left-back, and it’s difficult to improve that Aston Villa team.
“I’m not 100 per cent sure on that one right now.“

Villa to seal Truffart signing amid Robertson snub
The Reds’ reluctance to allow the Scotland captain to depart could force the B6 outfit into an alternative solution, Rennes left-back Adrien Truffert.
A report from L’Equipe (28 May) claims that the Villans are monitoring the 23-year-old but face competition from the likes of Marseille and Bournemouth.

The Cherries have reportedly agreed on personal terms with the Frenchman, who notched two assists in Ligue 1 this season, so Emery’s side will have to act fast if they are to seal his signature ahead of their top-flight rivals.
Truffert made his Champions League debut at the age of 18 and has since gone from strength to strength with Rennes, making 191 appearances for the Rouge et Noirs.
If he is to move on, the Birmingham-based outfit needs to be at the front of the queue for the one-cap France international as he has untapped potential and could be value for money that Villa are required to purchase this summer.
With Profit and Sustainability issues, especially with not qualifying for Europe’s elite competition, Monchi and Co. need to find bargains this summer, and Truffert fits the bill with a price tag between £13million and £17m.
That is probably much cheaper than the Reds would have demanded for Robertson, despite his advancing age.
