Agbonlahor certain over Aston Villa transfer call due to dressing-room unrest

Gabriel Agbonlahor has warned Aston Villa after the latest transfer news.

With another European campaign in the pipeline, Villa will undoubtedly be looking to bolster their squad to give themselves the best chance possible of ending the season with silverware.

After the disappointment of a narrow Champions League defeat to PSG, who went on to win the competition, Unai Emery will want to inject his side with new quality and take them to the next level.

With that in mind, plenty of stars have been linked with a move to Villa Park, though Agbonlahor is not a fan of the latest rumour.

Jadon Sancho to Villa rumours spark disbelief

There may not be an immediate priority for Villa to target this summer, though with Emi Martinez potentially on his way out, that may become the main centre of attention.

However, the Villans will look to take advnatage of any potential signings when they arise, with Jadon Sancho among those mooted for a move.

Via talkSPORT (5 June), Agbonlahor was discussing potential Premier League transfers, and he immediately brushed off any desire to see the Man United star at his former club next season.

He said: “His wages are too much, will upset the harmony of the changing room.

“That was the problem with Chelsea, that’s why Chelsea didn’t sign him, they wanted his wage to go down, and he said no.”

Sancho looked to be a real star while he was at Dortmund, but ever since making a move to the Premier League, that ability has not been on display, and it would be a surprise to see anyone take yet another chance on the forward after his failed loan at Chelsea.

Aston Villa must recruit smartly this summer

Signing Sancho would not be a piece of business that makes any sense for Aston Villa, and it is the type of deal they need to avoid this summer.

Reinforcements are needed, but they need to be the right ones.

Emery needs to be backed with additions that can improve the quality of his starting 11 and ensure that the Villans can go one step further in the new campaign.
