Jack Grealish ‘set for perfect Aston Villa transfer’ after Manchester City exit news
Jack Grealish could potentially seal a sensational return to Aston Villa in the upcoming transfer window after leaving Manchester City.
The Lions missed out on Champions League football after a controversial loss against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the final Premier League game of the season.
Unai Emery’s plans for next summer will arguably be affected by finishing sixth in the table, but they may yet have an opportunity to attract the 29-year-old forward, who signed for the Cityzens for £100million in 2021.
Grealish has been linked with a move to Villa Park next summer after falling down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium, and a return to Birmingham could possibly be on the cards.

Aston Villa transfer move will be perfect for Grealish
A move back to the Villans would be “perfect” for Grealish in the coming months, Jermaine Pennant says.
The ex-English forward believes the Man City star’s return to Villa Park would put a smile on many people’s faces.
Competition | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Premier League | 20 | 1 | 1 |
Pennant expects the 29-year-old to get back to his best at the Lions as he’s familiar with the environment and is a hero at the Birmingham outfit.
Speaking on talkSPORT (28 May), the retired forward said: “The one team I think would put a smile on a lot of people’s faces, I’d like to see Grealish go back to Villa. I think that would just be perfect. He knows the team. He knows the club. He’s from there. He’s a hero there. And we will see the Grealish that got that £100m move.”
Monchi should push for Grealish transfer at Villa Park
Grealish would be a blockbuster transfer at Villa Park if it happens next summer, and Monshi should at least try to make it happen.
Marcus Rashford played a significant role for Emery after signing on loan from Manchester United in the winter transfer window, but his return seems unlikely.
Marco Asensio has been another key player for the Villans in recent months, but he’ll return to Paris Saint-Germain soon.
Villa are in the Europa League and may see the likes of Morgan Rogers and Jacob Ramsey leave for better prospects elsewhere.
The Lions already have a connection with Grealish, and a return to Birmingham may be what’s needed for him to rediscover his form.
It’ll be interesting to see how much Man City will demand for the 29-year-old and whether the Villans will be able to afford him, considering their Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) concerns.
The England international’s future will be one to watch, especially for the Villa Park faithful.
