Aston Villa seal agreement for shock Redmond transfer, four-year contract

Aston Villa look set to sign Zepiqueno Redmond from Feyenoord.

The 18-year-old has featured four times for the Dutch side this season and looks set to make the move to Villa Park.

Unai Emery and Monchi are looking to complete business quickly after the Villans missed out on Champions League football for next season.

It was a major blow but Villa can still sign high-quality players with Europa League football on offer.

Villa set for Redmond transfer with agreement sorted

The young Dutchman is an exciting prospect and is out of contract this summer with Liverpool manager Arne Slot‘s former club.

A report from Fabrizio Romano (27 May) claims that the B6 outfit have agreed a deal with the forward for a free transfer.

It states that the Netherlands Under-19 international is set to sign a four-year deal with Emery’s side, which will keep him there until 2029 at least.

Redmond can help Villa to thrive

The Villans have reportedly beaten the likes of Tottenham, Bournemouth and AC Milan to the Dutch attacker’s signature in a major coup.

Since February, the young star has been working under Robin van Persie, making one league appearance under the former Manchester United star.

Redmond’s stats this season.

Working with a former player who has the quality that the ex-Arsenal man does, should only serve to improve his game in the long term.

Redmond is a centre-forward but is versatile and can play across the front three and in the number ten role, which will come in handy for Emery, if he decides to throw him in at the deep end despite having the likes of Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers at his disposal.

He boasts intelligent movement, is composed when finishing and has strong physical attributes which could allow him to thrive in the Premier League.

He has made nine appearances for the senior team and has notched two goals in the Dutch Cup, an encouraging start to his career.

The move is low-risk given the lack of a fee involved and if he turns out to be star for the Villans, it will definitely be worth taking a chance of him.
