Aston Villa ready official complaint to Premier League, approach now made
Aston Villa are already preparing a letter of complaint to the Premier League.
The Villans travelled to Old Trafford on Sunday (25 May) and failed to secure the point they needed to finish in the top five.
This will condemn Unai Emery’s side to a year in the Europa League after weeks of chasing to earn a place in the Premier League.
The defeat against Manchester United ultimately sealed Villa’s fate, with the controversy in M16 sparking an official complaint to the Premier League.

Aston Villa to complain to Premier League after Man United loss
Everyone associated with Villa Park has every right to be fuming with the performance of their side in a crunch match against the Red Devils.
With that being said, the result could have ultimately gone the way of the Villans if the main incident of the game had gone their way.
This saw Morgan Rogers have a goal ruled out for an alleged foul on United keeper Altay Bayindir as he was deemed to have had control of the ball with his hands.
Referee Thomas Bramall blew his whistle to award a foul before the ball had hit the back of the net, leaving VAR with no option but to accept the decision.
This didn’t go down well with Emery and his players, as Rogers was eventually booked for dissent due to his vigorous protests.
David Ornstein has now reported (25 May), that Villa plan to make an official complaint to the Premier League after missing out on Champions League football.
Position | Club | Games played | Goal difference | Points |
3. | Manchester City | 38 | +28 | 71 |
4. | Chelsea | 38 | +21 | 69 |
5. | Newcastle United | 38 | +21 | 66 |
6. | Aston Villa | 38 | +7 | 66 |
7. | Nottingham Forest | 38 | +12 | 65 |
The B6 club felt as if a more experienced match official should have been selected at Old Trafford with so much on the line.
This has seen the league organisers be approached for comment by Ornstein, with no response currently available.
Aston Villa right to appeal against Man United decision
There is no doubt that Bramall dropped a clanger when he opted to blow his whistle far too soon.
On another day, he holds off, and then VAR can intervene to either give the goal or not, probably not given that no foul was committed.
Now, fans and the hierarchy will await a response from the Premier League as PSR problems look set to deeply impact the Villans in the coming weeks and months.
