Hansi Flick namedrops Marcus Rashford as Aston Villa departure looms

Hansi Flick has once again mentioned Aston Villa loanee Marcus Rashford after consistent links to Barcelona.

The England international spent the second half of the season at Villa Park and showcased his ability in flashes across his 17 appearances.

After receiving tutelage from Unai Emery, it appears that a move elsewhere could be on the table for the 27-year-old in the summer.

With that being said, a switch to Barcelona could now be on the table after Flick spoke directly about Rashford ahead of the upcoming window.

Flick speaks out on Rashford to Barcelona move

As it stands, there is likely to be several different sides interested in the Manchester United man, with an exit looking increasingly likely.

It appears that his relationship with Ruben Amorim is damaged beyond repair, pointing towards a permanent departure in the coming weeks and months.

This could see Villa return with a permanent offer for Rashford after a largely successful loan spell before his injury in the Midlands.

As much as supporters may like to see the Englishman return, it does appear that a move to LaLiga could be on the table.

Links to Barcelona continue to rumble on with the summer in mind, and now the Blaugrana boss Flick has made direct reference to the Villa loanee.

Speaking out ahead of Barca’s final league match of the season, transcribed by Fabrizio Romano (24 May), he said: “Luis Díaz and Marcus Rashford are both fantastic players, I like them and we’ll see what happens.

“I won’t speak about players who are at other clubs.”

Rashford permanent deal looks unlikely at Aston Villa

It does feel as if the signing of Rashford would prove to be excellent for the B6 club for a variety of different reasons.

The Englishman’s profile has already been hugely positive for the Villans from a commercial point of view, as well as his end product on the pitch.

With more training sessions under his belt with Emery, there is every chance that he could fulfil his potential and find his top level once again.

This would certainly be good for someone like Morgan Rogers to help him grow and improve, although a deal now looks unlikely with Barcelona potentially set to come in with an offer.
