Rogers has stinker as MOTM gets 8/10 – Aston Villa player ratings v Tottenham

Aston Villa secured a 2-0 win against Tottenham on Friday night as Morgan Rogers struggled to impose himself at Villa Park.

The Villans are one game away from a potential second year in the Champions League after a huge win in B6 on 16 May.

After a frustrating first half for Unai Emery, the home side ultimately went on to secure three points thanks to goals from Ezri Konsa and Boubacar Kamara.

This carries Villa on to 66 points, moving into a final day clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford, which will have plenty of pressure surrounding it.

Before that clash rolls around, Villa News has rated the performance of each player out of 10 for the victory against Spurs.

Aston Villa one step away from Champions League again

It has felt like a very up-and-down season for the Villans with plenty of frustrations matched with a number of high points to celebrate.

Recent performances against PSG and Newcastle United were some of the best of the campaign and gave everyone hope of success.

These were dashed by the FA Cup semi-final defeat against Crystal Palace, but not before defeat against Manchester City in late fashion.

These sorts of results could have broken the team, as it did to many fans, but that hasn’t happened, and now three wins on the bounce have put them potentially just one win from the Champions League again.

Fans will now wait and see what happens against Manchester United on the final day, where the fate of the season will rest on a win at Old Trafford.

Emery and Co. will hope things will follow a similar pattern to what they did against Spurs, but that is yet to be seen as things stand.
