Aston Villa release statement as midfielder agrees new contract at Villa Park
Aston Villa have been active in tying down another ace down to a new deal ahead of the summer.
The Villans have always shown proactivity at Bodymoor Heath in order to avoid losing big names on cheap deals at the end of their contracts.
This was certainly the case many years ago with Jack Grealish and has been replicated in recent years in B6 to help aid progression.
As a result, it will come as little surprise to see Villa move to agree a contract with a midfielder before the transfer window opens.

Aston Villa announce latest contract extension
There is no doubt that Unai Emery will be keen to have his best players on lengthy contracts to help him build a squad that can grow together.
This has been shown by the hierarchy at Bodymoor Heath moving to tie down Boubacar Kamara despite his current deal running until 2027.
The Frenchman has certainly been an excellent member of the midfield alongside the likes of Youri Tielemans and John McGinn for many years.
As it stands, the ex-Marseille man is yet to agree to a new deal, while the Villa skipper’s countryman has now agreed to a contract.
This has the Villans confirm via their official website on 13 May that under-18s captain Aidan Borland agree to a long-term extension at Villa Park.
The 18-year-old made his first team debut in September against Wycombe Wanderers in the Carabao Cup before winning the FA Youth Cup on 5 May.
It is clear that the B6 club have high hopes for the midfielder who could be set for a bigger role under Emery next season.

Borland set for long-term Aston Villa stay
It is fair to say that the Spanish head coach has a number of excellent midfield options already available to him in his squad.
This has seen Ross Barkley struggle for minutes this campaign despite signing from Luton Town in the summer.

Even record signing Amadou Onana has struggled to confirm a starting place for himself, despite impressing in recent weeks.
This could make life difficult for Borland, but there is no doubt that he has the leadership qualities that could make him a useful asset for the Villans moving forward.
It will certainly be interesting to see where the Scot’s future lies and whether he can earn a regular role in the Midlands after signing this new deal.
