Aston Villa ‘may give in’ as £50m-plus offer ready for Youri Tielemans
Aston Villa may be resigned to losing key players in the summer as they aim to resolve their financial fair play issues, with Youri Tielemans on the chopping block.
Villa sold striking sensation Jhon Duran to the Saudi Pro League in the January window, but one more huge sale may solve their profit and sustainability issues.
Tielemans has been one of Aston Villa’s most important players this season, but he may now leave as the Villans approach the June 30 PSR deadline.
Unai Emery would be disappointed to lose one of his most important players, but the decision may now be taken above him, with money soon to be on the table.

Al-Hilal prepare huge bid for Tielemans
Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal are keen on a move for Tielemans, as they prepare to give up their pursuit of Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes.
Sebastian Vidal has reported that Al-Hilal are ready to offer £50.5million for Tielemans, and Villa could “give in” to this bid, despite Emery’s desire to keep the Belgian.
Competition | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Premier League | 35 | 3 | 7 |
Champions League | 12 | 2 | 3 |
Tielemans has made 52 appearances across all competitions this season and has been a standout performer in the middle of the park.
Aston Villa will need to replace Tielemans creativity
Losing Tielemans would be a devastating blow for Villa, but with the money offered for a player they signed for free, their finances would be given a huge boost.
Villa would need to replace Tielemans’ creative output, with the 28-year-old contributing five goals and 10 assists from midfield over the course of the season.
Villarreal sensation Alex Baena could be an option, with Emery very familiar with the Spain international, who is only behind Lamine Yamal and Raphinha for assists in La Liga this season.
Whoever Villa target would need to hit the ground running given how important Tielemans has been, and they may find the Belgian is a tough player to replace.
With the midfielder likely out for the rest of the season with injury, now is the perfect time to look at life without him, moving forward with cash in the bank and less PSR stress.
