Emi Martinez reaches out to Marcus Rashford amid injury update at Aston Villa

Emi Martinez has sent a message to Marcus Rashford as the Aston Villa loanee continues his injury rehabilitation.

The England international was surprisingly absent as the Villans fell to a 3-0 defeat against Crystal Palace at Wembley.

Once again, the 27-year-old missed out on the win against Fulham as Youri Tielemans secured a huge three points at Villa Park.

This came as Rashford continued his recovery, with Martinez reacting on social media in a fashion which supporters are likely to be delighted about.

Martinez sends message to Rashford at Aston Villa

The Argentina international kept a clean sheet for the first time in four games as Villa secured a 1-0 win against the Cottagers.

Martinez wasn’t at fault as he was against Manchester City, with supporters largely pleased with his performance in B6.

This brought to an end a poor run of form for the 32-year-old, which has seen his opinion among supporters fall to an all-time low.

The win was secured despite being without Rashford, who looks likely to be out for the rest of the season after picking up an injury.

As a result, the Manchester United loanee continued his recovery as the clash went on at Villa Park and shared footage of himself in an ice bath.

Reaching out to Rashford on Instagram (3 May), Martinez responded to this video to say: “We miss you bro.”

This is bound to be encouraging to fans who are questioning whether the Englishman would like to make a return to Bodymoor Heath in the summer.

There is no doubt that Unai Emery will want the loan star back before the campaign comes to an end in the West Midlands.

With a top-five spot on the line, the Spaniard needs to get the best out of his side as three games count down until the final curtain falls.

With that being said, having a fully fit Rashford available in the coming games could be huge to the potential of earning Champions League qualification.

This is especially the case with Ollie Watkins continuing to falter after once again going without a goal against Fulham in B6.
