Aston Villa loanee Louie Barry sends message after what happened at Hull City

Louie Barry has sent a message to Hull City supporters as his loan from Aston Villa comes to an end.

The 21-year-old had a stellar opening half of the season at Stockport County before being recalled and loaned back out to the Championship.

This decision from Unai Emery and Co. didn’t work out for the best, as the Englishman picked up an injury after just four games for the Tigers.

With the final curtain falling on the second-tier season, Barry has now reached out to Hull supporters after the clash against Portsmouth.

There is no doubt that Ruben Selles’ side could have done with the quality of Barry as they hurtled towards relegation to League One.

This wasn’t to be as the versatile forward missed out once again as his side travelled to Fratton Park in need of a positive result to avoid relegation.

Luckily for the Yorkshire outfit, Luton Town fell to a 5-2 defeat against West Brom at The Hawthorns, resulting in the Hatters’ relegation.

This saw Hull maintain their place in the Championship, while the Villa man’s loan deal at the MKM Stadium came to an end.

On the day where the Villans also secured a 1-0 win against Fulham, Barry took to his Instagram story (3 May) to congratulate his Hull teammates for their survival.

He said: “Gutted I wasn’t able to get over the line and get back on the pitch before the end of the season, but proud of all the lads for getting the job done.

“Thank you to everyone at the club and all the fans for how you welcomed me when I first came in. Up the Tigers.”

Barry set for Aston Villa return

There is no doubt that the young forward has ability which could be nurtured under Emery if given the chance in the upcoming season.

The Spaniard hasn’t been shy in doing so with Morgan Rogers and could look to replicate that with the Villa fan in the coming months.

With Ollie Watkins linked with a move away, the need for a striker could be on the agenda in B6, with Barry potentially representing a positive option.

After netting 16 goals in just 24 appearances for Stockport County, there is every chance that he could make the step up to the Premier League.

It will certainly be something for supporters to keep their eye on in pre-season as the former Barcelona youngster makes his way back to Bodymoor Heath.
