Aston Villa v Fulham predicted by supercomputer

There was so much excitement coming into April and it is fair to say by the end of it any dreams of an unforgettable season have been dashed.

A win against PSG at home wasn’t enough to get past them in the Champions League before being dumped out of the FA Cup just two weeks later.

Now all there is to play for is a top-five finish, but even hopes of that took a hit thanks to a late defeat against Manchester City.

Even with that being the case, a win against Fulham could prove to get things back on track, so Emery will still remain hopeful of a victory.

The Spaniard has been handed a boost as the Opta Supercomputer (30 April) has given Villa a 52 per cent chance of securing a win against the Cottagers.

By comparison, Silva’s men have been afforded a 24.3 per cent chance of three points, leaving a draw at a likelihood of 23.7 at Villa Park.

Aston Villa must keep season on track v Fulham

With so much hope coming into the season, it was always going to be difficult to keep up.

After such a disappointing few days, it is important that Emery doesn’t let the campaign slip away from him and his side in the final weeks.

This will see the Spaniard demand more from the likes of Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers, who were both anonymous at Wembley.

If the quality players in the squad at Villa Park can show up, there is no reason why three points won’t be staying in the Midlands.
