Youri Tielemans makes ‘horrible’ Aston Villa admission after FA Cup defeat

Aston Villa were beaten 3-0 by Crystal Palace in Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final, and will now turn their attention back to the Premier League.

Eberechi Eze’s goal established a 1-0 half-time lead for Crystal Palace before Ismaila Sarr netted a second-half brace.

Villa had hoped that their promising season would result in silverware, but their FA Cup dream was crushed at Wembley by the Eagles.

Unai Emery’s men will look to bounce back from their semi-final heartbreak when they take on Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday 3 May.

Youri Tielemans delivers message after Villa lose to Crystal Palace

Emery’s side were well beaten by Palace at Wembley, much to the disappointment of the Villa Park faithful who had previously enjoyed their side’s FA Cup run.

On 27 April, Youri Tielemans wrote on his Instagram story: “Been horrible yesterday. We’ll bounce back from this next week. Work hard, stay together. UTV.”

Villa must bounce back from FA Cup setback

Villa have enjoyed a largely successful season, and supporters will never forget seeing the West Midlands giants reach the Champions League quarter-finals and FA Cup semi-finals in the same season.

However, after establishing themselves as one of the best teams in the Premier League last term, Emery’s men were vying to win silverware this season.

But Villa mustn’t let their heads drop after their comprehensive FA Cup semi-final defeat, and should look ahead to their battle to secure Champions League football for the second consecutive campaign.

Last time out in the Premier League, Emery’s side were beaten 2-1 by Manchester City, but the West Midlands club are still just three points adrift of the top five with four games remaining.

Villa are capable of winning all four of their remaining fixtures, as they sit above all of them in the top-flight table, including fellow European chasers Fulham and Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth.
