Marcus Rashford disrespects Aston Villa fans as he’s spotted after Wembley defeat

Aston Villa had a day to forget on Saturday, which was made worse after the football was long since over.

Unai Emery’s side had a disappointing day at Wembley Stadium (26 April) when they were comfortably beaten in the FA Cup semi-final at the hands of Crystal Palace.

It was a game that Villa struggled to create chances in, as an Eberechi Eze goal and a brace from Ismaila Sarr brought an end to the Villans’ hopes of winning any silverware this season.

Palace even missed a penalty in the second half, which would have added more misery to Villa’s day, with the performance not going the way that Emery had hoped for.

Marcus Rashford missed the semi-final

The day started out poorly after Emery confirmed that Rashford would play no part in the game due to suffering an undisclosed injury.

The Villa boss didn’t reveal what the problem is for the versatile forward, but did confirm that he could be out of action for a few weeks.

Given that the Midlands club are now at the end of the season, there is a chance that Rashford may not play another part in this campaign for them.

Rashford’s long-term future is still not wrapped up either, with claims that his wages might end up being a problem for any team looking to sign him from Man United in the summer.

Villa do have the option to sign the England international on a permanent basis though as part of their current loan deal, which would cost them £40million.

Marcus Rashford isn’t learning his lesson

Villa fans were already frustrated by the defeat against Palace, but when footage was shared of Rashford attending the boxing event at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, they were infuriated.

While Rashford was injured and unable to play on Saturday, seeing him so openly out and having fun after a significant defeat didn’t sit well with most.

Footballers having a personal life and attending events is something that most fans are accepting of, but there is also a need to read the room, especially after specific results.

That’s something that Rashford has consistently struggled with in recent years, seemingly inviting as much pressure and criticism on himself as possible, which is the last thing he needs when his future beyond this season is very uncertain.
