NSWE ‘to receive major financial boost’ after Aston Villa announcement
Unai Emery has pushed Aston Villa forward on the pitch, and it looks as though NSWE are set to reap the rewards off the pitch.
This has been one of the most exciting seasons in recent memory for Aston Villa supporters.
Emery’s side pushed Paris Saint-Germain to the limit in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final and are looking to qualify for Europe’s premier competition once again.
In addition, the West Midlands-based outfit are set to take on Crystal Palace at Wembley on Saturday (26 April) for a place in the FA Cup final.
Meanwhile, some high-profile players have been brought to Villa Park, such as Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio, demonstarting the attractiveness of Villa at the moment, and it looks as though NSWE are keen to build on this momentum after an official announcement.

NSWE announce exciting new plans at Aston Villa
As well as the arrivals of Rashford and Asensio, Villa are also linked with a move for Kevin de Bruyne, demonstarting just how much has changed in recent seasons in the West Midlands.
However, this, of course, comes with a cost, with players expected to demand pay rises from NSWE, although it looks as though Villa’s owners have a way to deal with these costs.
Premier League 2024/25 | Position | Points | Played |

Nottingham Forest | 4th | 60 | 33 |
Newcastle United | 5th | 59 | 33 |
Chelsea | 6th | 57 | 33 |
Aston Villa | 7th | 57 | 34 |
As officially announced on Thursday (24 April), Aston Villa have plans to redevelop the North Stand at Villa Park, which will see the capacity in that stand increase to over 12,000.
In addition, ongoing upgrades to Villa Park’s other three stands mean the total capacity of the stadium will increase to over 50,000.
The Villans, who hope to have the work complete by the second half of 2027, have confirmed that the ground’s current capacity will not decrease at any time during building works.
And ex-Villa scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – expects NSWE to receive major financial benefits once the expansion is complete.
“You’ve only got to look at what’s gone on at other clubs in the Premier League,” King said.
“New stadiums at Tottenham and Everton, the expansion at Liverpool. If Villa are going to do it in a way where nobody is disrupted, that will be fantastic for the supporters. Villa Park is an iconic football ground, which holds around 42,000 people.
“Therefore, to add another 8,000-plus seats, that is going to result in a major financial boost for the club.”

Villa continue to move in the right direction
Emery has transformed Villa and has the Lions competing for major honours for the first time in many years. Therefore, it is an exciting time to be a supporter.
And the plans to expand Villa Park only further reinforce that the Villans are moving in the right direction.
