Kamara shambolic, Rogers just as bad – Aston Villa player ratings v Crystal Palace

Aston Villa were denied the chance to reach the FA Cup final as they fell to a 3-0 loss to Crystal Palace.

Marcus Rashford was ruled out for Villa with injury, which proved to be a huge blow for the crucial contest.

A stunning effort from Eberechi Eze opened the scoring for the Londoners in the 31st minute and the Villans went into the break with a one-goal deficit.

It was nearly made worse when Boubacar Kamara gave away a penalty just after the break, but Jean-Philippe Mateta sent his spot kick wide of Emi Martinez‘s net.

Ismaila Sarr doubled the Eagles’ lead just before the hour mark in a devastating blow for the Villa Park outfit at Wembley on Saturday (26 April).

The Senegal international tripled the advantage in stoppage team to secure his side’s place in the final and ensure that Villa were eliminated.

Unai Emery‘s side will go trophyless after the defeat in an underwhelming campaign which had promised to be so much more.

Kamara struggles as Aston Villa suffer defeat

Kamara is usually a reliable option for Emery but he was very poor on this occasion, when the Villans needed him to shine.

His performance was summed up by the penalty that he gave away in the early stages of the second 45 minutes.

Kamara was poor against Palace.

Even though Mateta missed from the spot, it did not spare the Frenchman’s blushes as his display was utterly woeful at Wembley and was a major factor in the B6 outfit getting knocked out.

It could still be a successful season if they qualify for the Champions League, but this result will sting.
