Ruben Amorim shares what’s next for Marcus Rashford after Aston Villa loan
Aston Villa recruited forward Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United in the January transfer window, but his future is unclear.
Rashford joined Aston Villa on loan with an option to buy, and has impressed in flashes so far at Villa Park.
Unai Emery is clearly a fan of the attacker, with Rashford preferred to Ollie Watkins in recent big games, but Villa are in danger of their season collapsing.
Villa were eliminated from the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain and are falling behind in the race for a top-five spot, and failing to qualify for Europe’s elite competition could harm their chances of keeping Rashford.

Ruben Amorim makes Rashford admission amid Villa form
Man United manager Ruben Amorim played a key part in Rashford’s shock move to Aston Villa, but he has now praised the forward for what he has done on loan.
Although Villa have an option to buy in Rashford’s loan contract, it is unclear what will happen to him, and there is a chance that he could return to Old Trafford.
“All the players that are on loan, they will return and then the club will decide what to do at the end of the season,” Amorim stated in a press conference on Friday (25 April).

The manager was asked whether he was pleased with Rashford’s progress, and he admitted that he was happy with the England international.
“Yeah of course, of course, of course. The talent of Rashford, the talent of Antony, all these players, they have to put that on the team,” he replied.
“So we are really happy because if you put a player on loan, the best thing for us is for them to perform and they are performing.”

Could Aston Villa keep Rashford?
The option to buy in Rashford’s contract puts Villa in the driving seat in the race to sign him this summer, and if he is willing to stay, then a deal could be straightforward.
However, if Villa fail to qualify for the Champions League, then he may fancy a move elsewhere, with it reported that Rashford could be keen on a move abroad.
The 27-year-old’s wages could also prove to be a stumbling block in any deal, but if Watkins leaves as a result of his recent time out of the starting XI, then it could free up financial space to accommodate Rashford on a permanent deal.
