Unai Emery ‘jealous’ of Jason Tindall as Aston Villa v Newcastle verdict shared
Aston Villa boss Unai Emery is supposedly jealous of Newcastle United assistant Jason Tindall after the pair clashed in the fixture earlier in the campaign.
The Magpies are preparing to travel to Villa Park on 19 April as the home side look to recover after losing 3-0 at St James’ earlier on Boxing Day.
This was yet another defeat for the B6 outfit in the North East, which saw frustrations boil over in the tunnel at half time and at the final whistle.
Now, Emery and Tindall are set to go head-to-head once again as a “jealous” verdict emerged ahead of the Premier League clash.

Emery set to face Tindall and Newcastle United
Eddie Howe is set to miss the clash in the West Midlands as the English head coach recovers from Pneumonia.
This will see Tindall take charge of his side once again after coaching his side in the North East to a 5-0 win against Crystal Palace in midweek.
With this victory behind him, the 47-year-old looks set to reignite his rivalry with Emery, but has suggested that there is no issue from his end.
After bizarrely putting on a Wham hoodie at St James’ Park in an attempt to rattle the Villans, it does feel as if the Spaniard will be unlikely to be too friendly with Newcastle’s assistant.
If that is to be the case, former Villa striker Dean Saunders has suggested to talkSPORT (19 April, 08:10am) that the 53-year-old is jealous of Tindall.
He said: “I think it’s pure jealousy [from Emery]. Tindall stands there and looks like a Love Island contestant in the technical area.
“It’s just part of the game, on the sidelines you get the hump, you still have respect for the other manager until they go at one of your players, that’s where it turns ugly.”
Emery will be keen to secure Aston Villa win v Newcastle
There is so much riding on the Villa Park clash against the Magpies, with league position and personal pride playing a huge part in proceedings.
The B6 club will be desperate to qualify for Champions League football again next season, especially after the atmosphere around the 3-2 win against PSG on Tuesday (15 April).
With that being said, a win against Newcastle would be sweet in more ways than one as Emery looks to maintain his side’s amazing home form and move level with fourth-placed Nottingham Forest.
Position | Team | Games played | Goal difference | Points |
3. | Newcastle United | 32 | +21 | 59 |
4. | Nottingham Forest | 32 | +13 | 57 |
5. | Manchester City | 32 | +20 | 55 |
6. | Chelsea | 32 | +17 | 54 |
7. | Aston Villa | 32 | +3 | 54 |
The Spaniard will also have the idea in the back of his mind to get one up on Tindall after his cringeworthy antics in December.
