Rashford told to sign for Aston Villa amid new Man United exit update

Aston Villa loanee Marcus Rashford’s thinking ahead of the summer has emerged amid an update on his Manchester United future.

Rashford has scored three goals and provided six assists since joining Villa on loan.

The 27-year-old started on Tuesday (15 April) as Villa were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain, which is thought to have left Ollie Watkins furious.

It is believed that Rashford would like to play for Manchester United again after what Wayne Rooney said, and an update has now emerged on whether that would be possible.

Rashford has transfer decision to make after latest update

Unai Emery’s decision on Rashford against PSG left Gabby Agbonlahor baffled.

Despite this, NSWE have been instructed to make Rashford’s stay at Villa permanent. However, this might not be so straightforward.

As reported by talkSPORT (16 April), Rashford’s chances of regaining his place at Manchester United remain slim.

However, that doesn’t necessarily mean he will remain with Villa, as the forward is still believed to prefer a switch to Barcelona this summer.

Rashford would have to take a wage cut on his £350,000 a week salary to join Emery’s side permanently, with PSG also long-term admirers.

However, ex-Villa scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – believes the Manchester United outcast should sign permanently for Villa.

“I don’t think he needs a move to PSG financially,” King said.

“Football-wise, I would stay where I’ve established myself, at Aston Villa. He has good players around him. Therefore, if he wants to rebuild his career, that is where he should go. However, if he wants the money, he will probably go to PSG.

“The ball is in Rashford’s court. Does he want the money and eight decent games a year? Or does he want to rebuild his career and get back in the England squad? The only way he will do that is by staying in the Premier League, and if Aston Villa can afford him, they seem the perfect choice.

“They took a chance on him, even though he is an established player. They’ve taken a chance on him and helped him get back doing what he should have been doing at United, which is playing football.”

Rashford has a big decision to make

Rashford is at a crossroads in his career. It looks as though his time with United is over, which means he needs to think carefully about his next move.

A transfer to PSG or Barcelona would no doubt be difficult to turn down. However, after the faith that Emery has shown in him, Rashford should give a move to Villa serious consideration.
