Aston Villa v PSG result predicted by supercomputer in Champions League
Aston Villa face one of their biggest games in recent memory as they are set to take on Paris Saint-Germain.
Villa will play host to the French champions in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie, but they face an uphill battle.
PSG ran out 3-1 winners in Paris after a dominant first-leg performance, and Unai Emery faces a huge task on his hands to turn around the deficit against his former club.
The atmosphere at Villa Park is set to be electric for the heavyweight clash, and a home win is well within the realms of possibility. However, to progress to the semi-finals, they will have to win by more than two goals.

PSG backed to beat Aston Villa in Champions League
Aston Villa are well aware of the threat PSG pose, after goals from Desire Doue, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Nuno Mendes followed Morgan Rogers’ opener at the Parc des Princes.
Despite home advantage in the second leg, Opta’s supercomputer has backed PSG to win on the night, and subsequently advance to the semi-finals.
Stat | Morgan Rogers |
Appearances | 11 |
Goals | 4 |
Assists | 3 |
They have given PSG a 43.6 per cent chance of victory on the night, which means of course they will advance through.
Villa have been given a 31.5 per cent chance of winning, and the odds of them winning by a big enough margin to go through will be significantly less.
A draw has been given a 24.9 per cent probability, with both sides likely to attack rather than sit back.

Aston Villa can lean on PSG history for comeback
PSG have endured several disastrous Champions League collapses in recent years, which may give Aston Villa hope that they can pull off an unlikely comeback.
Emery was PSG manager when they won 4-0 against Barcelona in the first leg of the round of 16 in 2017, but their 6-1 defeat at the Camp Nou saw the Parisians beaten and eliminated.
PSG also suffered from a dramatic comeback as they were 2-0 up on aggregate and cruising against Real Madrid in 2022, only to lose the second leg 3-1 and crash out.
Although PSG have a lot of recent experience in the competition, they have never won it, and the French side will be wary of their own historical comeback defeats heading into the second leg.
