Aston Villa fell to a 3-1 defeat in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday.

The Villans did take the lead at the Parc Des Princes on 9 April as Morgan Rogers tapped home a Youri Tielemans cross after a superb counter attack.

This lead didn’t last long as the Parisians made their long-term pressure count and levelled the scores with a Desire Doue wonderstrike.

It was Khvicha Kvaratskhelia who gave the home side the lead with another excellent strike just four minutes into the second half before Nuno Mendes sealed a 3-1 win for the Ligue 1 giants.

Now, Unai Emery will prepare his side for the reverse leg at Villa Park, but not before Villa News rates the players out of 10 at the Parc Des Princes.

Aston Villa have result to chase v PSG

All Emery would have wanted going back to Villa Park was something to cling onto but a 3-1 deficit may be too much to come back from.

With that being said, the Villans have looked unbeatable in B6 in recent weeks and will be hopeful of utilising their home advantage once again in the Champions League.

Last time out in the Midlands, Villa were able to secure a huge win against a high-flying Nottingham Forest side and will be keen to do so against the Parisians.

It will be far from an easy task, especially considering how well Luis Enrique’s side performed in the first leg, but the away side didn’t go without their chances.

If they can take advantage of those in the second leg and get more out of the likes of Rashford, it could make for an interesting clash at Villa Park.
