Agbonlahor sends message after learning of Aston Villa fan clashes in Paris

Gabby Agbonlahor has offered Aston Villa fans a warning ahead of the clash against PSG on Wednesday.

The Villans are preparing for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against the Ligue 1 champions at the Parc Des Princes on 9 April.

The clash represents a return to the French capital for Unai Emery, who will be keen of securing a positive result to take back to Villa Park next week.

With that being said, the Spaniard won’t be happy to hear about fans clashing in Paris ahead of the game as Agbolahor makes his thoughts known.

Agbonlahor urges Aston Villa fans to be ‘streetwise’

The PSG ultra group are known as one of the most dangerous in Europe and has proved that already this season with various clashes.

This was the case against Liverpool in the round of 16 and has once again been showcased as the Villans travel across the channel.

Images emerged on Tuesday night (8 April) of supporters outside a bar in near the Moulin Rouge in Pigalle hurling abuse, fighting and throwing items at each other on the streets of Paris.

This is far from a good look for either set of fans but is fresh evidence of how wary travelling Villans have to be on the continent.

With that in mind, ahead of the clash at the Parc Des Princes, former Villa ace Agbonlahor has urged fans to be careful while moving to and from the game.

Speaking on talkSPORT (9 April, 9:06am), he said: “I think fans have to be careful tonight.

“It’s an amazing city but it’s the sort of place and game tonight where fans have got to be a bit streetwise going to the game and from the game.”

Aston Villa fans must avoid trouble in Paris

It seems clear that the Villa fans were jumped by PSG supporters on Tuesday night but must look to avoid further issues ahead of the game.

This is one of the biggest nights in the history of Aston Villa Football Club, and has to be remembered for all the right reasons moving forward.

Emery and Co. will hope that the clash remains long in the memory, thanks to the likes of Morgan Rogers and Marcus Rashford rather than fan violence outside the ground.

The excitement surrounding the clash is bound to be palpable for the travelling fans, but keeping that in check until their safety is confirmed has to be a priority.

It will certainly be interesting to see how the game goes for the Villans, especially for Emi Martinez, who is bound to face abuse from the home crowd.
