Jacob Ramsey urged to leave Aston Villa by former Villa Park ace

Jacob Ramsey could now be on his way out of Aston Villa in the summer.

The 23-year-old has been a useful asset under Unai Emery this campaign after maintaining fitness after a lengthy injury concern in B6.

This has seen the Englishman make 36 appearances in all competitions and make a positive impact when given the chance.

This saw him net the goal to send the Villans to Wembley, but even with that sort of achievement behind him, a former Villa Park favourite has urged him to move on.

Ramsey told to leave Aston Villa to better his career

The Bodymoor Heath academy graduate is certainly one of the most exciting players to watch at Villa Park when he is on song.

When the attacking midfielder gets on the ball, he is able to drive forward and cause problems for defences, in a similar ilk to Morgan Rogers.

His only downfall is that he has only scored one and assisted three in the Premier League which needs improving as Villa strive for Champions League qualification.

With that being said, former Villa ace Marc Albrighton has shared his belief that Ramsey would benefit from a move away from B6 in the summer.

Speaking on the Football Fill-In (8 April), he said: “I think he would be a better player if he were to move.

“As much as I’d love to see him stay at the club, I think he’ll always be known as the youth academy graduate. Whereas, if he goes to another club, he steps in and is a big part of their midfield.

“If he was to go to a club with the right manager who believes in him for a few quid, he’s going to be walking in on top of the world. For his career, he’d be better somewhere else.”

Aston Villa must keep hold of Ramsey

In a world of PSR problems, the sale of a homegrown talent like the Englishman could prove to make sense for someone like Monchi.

The Spaniard is forced to deal with these financial problems that could be eased by the sale of the 23-year-old in the summer.

It would be interesting to see who may be interested in his signature and how much the Villans could realistically demand for his signature if they did opt to sell.

With that being said, Ramsey has so much to add to Emery’s squad and still has plenty of room to get better in the coming years.

The number 41 is excellent when given the chance and just needs to hit a consistent run of form in front of goal, and he will arguably become undroppable.
