Aston Villa ‘sending Rashford back to Manchester United’ in transfer twist

Aston Villa have to make a decision regarding Marcus Rashford and his loan move from Manchester United.

Rashford has had an upturn in form since joining Aston Villa on loan from Manchester United in the winter transfer window, bagging three goals and four assists in 12 appearances across all competitions.

With the England international’s loan contract soon coming to an end, the Villa Park outfit must decide if they want to sign him permanently for £40million.

Unai Emery could certainly benefit from having Rashford in his ranks, as the Birmingham-based club could be in the UEFA Champions League again next term.

Aston Villa express interest in Randal Kolo Muani

Meanwhile, Aston Villa are also looking at other ways to strengthen their attack, with Randal Kolo Muani emerging as a target ahead of the summer.

Villa have already expressed an interest in signing Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain, according to Sky Sport in Switzerland.

Like Rashford, the Frenchman also had an upturn in form after going out on loan in the winter transfer window, bagging five goals and an assist in his first four Serie A appearances for Juventus.

However, things have gone downhill for Kolo Muani at the Turin-based club after Igor Tudor replaced Thiago Motta as their manager.

The 26-year-old is set to return to PSG when his loan deal expires, and the French heavyweights are already looking for a buyer.

Kolo Muani has significant interest from clubs in England, with Aston Villa among those who have expressed their interest.

Villa to swap Rashford for Kolo Muani

Aston Villa’s interest in Kolo Muani hints at the possibility of their interest in sending Rashford back to Manchester United.

While £40m sounds reasonable for a player of Rashford’s quality, it is worth noting that he would also command a hefty salary, which the Birmingham-based club would have to cover entirely if he signs permanently.

Therefore, it would not be a surprise if Monchi is eyeing Kolo Muani, who is also a year younger than the Englishman, as Villa’s new striker.

The France international’s wages are likely to be significantly lower than Rashford’s, making him a more viable option for Emery’s side.
