‘Amadou Onana in trouble at Aston Villa’ as ‘unprecedented’ update emerges
Amadou Onana could be set for a difficult summer at Aston Villa if a new deal goes through at Villa Park.
The Belgium international has had a mixed bag of a campaign in B6, spending large spells on the sidelines through injury.
This has resulted in a stop-start season for the 23-year-old in claret and blue, despite having an excellent start after moving from Everton.
The midfielder could now be fearing for his future at Villa Park as Unai Emery looks set to be afforded his biggest wish ahead of the summer.

Onana to fall victim to Aston Villa contract development
It will certainly be interesting to see if Onana features more regularly for Villa between now and the end of the season.
This will likely give the hierarchy at Bodymoor Heath a headache as Emery looks to fit all his best players into one starting 11.
As it stands, that is going to be highly difficult for the Belgian due to the competition in front of him right now.
Youri Tielemans has been an ever-present this campaign and has been joined by Boubacar Kamara, who has been superb since returning from injury.
There is an element of worry around the Frenchman whose contract expires in 2027, sparking Villa into life to tie him down for the long term.
Now, it has been reported that the Villans want to do everything they can to extend his deal with the idea of making the 25-year-old a “historic” and “unprecedented” offer [Foot Mercato, 2 April].

Onana could be done at Villa after Kamara update
Realistically, Villa can’t afford to have their record signing, who they spent £50million on, sitting on the bench wasting away.
Right now, Emery’s side are in their best form of the season and can’t afford to be making wholesale changes to welcome in fringe players.

Unfortunately for Onana, that is what he is right now, and that could spark him into trying to find a move away from Villa Park in the summer.
It will be interesting to see how Emery sees the Belgian fitting in, in his squad and what Kamara’s contract extension could mean for his future.
