Rashford odds slashed as Aston Villa star Rogers suffers blow

Marcus Rashford and Morgan Rogers have been in terrific form in recent weeks for Aston Villa.

The England international duo both featured at Wembley during the international break before returning to club action against Preston North End.

The Manchester United loanee bagged a brace at Deepdale, aided by a penalty won by the 22-year-old with just over 60 minutes on the clock.

It is fair to say that the pair have become two of the two most important players under Unai Emery, despite not being reflected in the latest odds.

Rashford and Rogers in England 2026 World Cup squad odds

Thomas Tuchel has clearly enjoyed what he has seen from both English talents in B6 in recent weeks, culminating in a call up in his first squad.

This was done with the 2026 World Cup in mind with the German brought in on a short term basis with winning the famous trophy in mind.

The Villa duo will have high hopes of taking up a spot in that side across the United States, Canada, and Mexico next summer.

Rashford appears to have taken a step closer to achieving that goal with his form in claret and blue as his odds were slashed to 10/11 [Odds Checker, 1 April].

This will come as a boost to the Manchester United loan star, who has now netted two and assisted four in his ten Villa outings.

This looks likely to represent a blow for his teammate in B6, Rogers, whose odds have raised to 4/7 to take a place in the squad.

It has to be said that this has come as a surprise for the former Manchester City youngster, who has been electric under Emery this campaign.

Rashford and Rogers must focus on Aston Villa

There is so much going on at Villa Park right now that the Three Lions shouldn’t be on any players’ minds.

A Champions League quarter-final against PSG awaits with an FA Cup semi-final against Crystal Palace at Wembley also being added to the calendar.

This is all being tied in with the hope of securing the best possible Premier League finish, which may not be easy while fighting on so many fronts.

With that being said, Emery needs his best players like Rashford and Rogers to step up and prove their metal and show why they deserve to go to a World Cup.

Similar things can be said about Ollie Watkins and Ezri Konsa who will also be keen on earning Tuchel’s trust before next summer’s tournament.
