Ruben Amorim makes new Marcus Rashford admission at Aston Villa
Marcus Rashford is enjoying a successful spell on loan with Aston Villa from Manchester United.
The England international marked his 10th appearance in Villa colours with a brace as Unai Emery’s men defeated Preston on Sunday to progress to the FA Cup semi-finals.
Rashford has now notched two goals and four assists for Emery’s side, further proving that his loan move away from Old Trafford has helped to revitalise his career.
Rashford and Villa have a big month ahead as April witnesses the men in claret and blue take on French giants Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Ruben Amorim speaks out on Rashford at Villa
The Manchester United boss revealed in his press conference on Monday, 31 March: “I am focused on my team and my players.
“Rashford is not my player at the moment.
“But, of course, I am happy when our players are playing well on loan.”

Rashford’s brace against Preston marked his first goals since he was also at the double for Amorim’s men in their 4-0 win over Everton in December.

Villa should sign Rashford permanently
Villa’s loan deal with United for Rashford includes an option to buy, meaning that Emery’s men are free to negotiate permanent terms with the England star if they wish to do so.
The 27-year-old’s move from Old Trafford to Villa Park has been a major success, which was epitomised when he was called up to Thomas Tuchel’s first England squad.
Rashford has reached a pivotal point in his career, as he will be keen to remain in Three Lions contention ahead of the 2026 World Cup, having missed out on selection to Gareth Southgate’s squad for last summer’s Euros.
Meanwhile, Emery and Co are reaping the benefits of having a talented attacker who has already made six goal contributions for them in as many games.
Rashford’s goals against Preston are surely just a sign of what is to come, with glory wanted in the Champions League, FA Cup and the Premier League.
The Villa Park giants should be keen to acquire Rashford permanently, as he is showing signs that he could return to his clinical best.
