Unai Emery has Marco Asensio ‘no-brainer’ after PSG fee demand revealed

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery has been handed a major boost in the pursuit of loan star Marco Asensio.

The former Real Madrid midfielder has emerged as a superstar at Villa Park after being frozen out by Luis Enrique in the French capital.

Since joining the Villans on loan in the winter transfer window, the Spaniard has notched seven goals in eight matches in all competitions.

The 29-year-old is reportedly keen to make the move, and it is a no-brainer for Emery after a new update on his future.

PSG name Asensio price for Aston Villa

With the form that Asensio has been in for Unai Emery’s side, a deal must be secured to bring him to Birmingham.

A report from Spanish outlet Sport (27 March) claims that the French outfit would demand a fee of €15 million (£12.5m) for the former Madrid man.

It states that the reported valuation would not be a problem for the Midlands club, and the parties have already held talks regarding a transfer.

Villa must sign Asensio permanently after bargain reveal

Given the resurgence that the Spain international has enjoyed under Emery, it should be the Villans number one priority to secure his services.

The reported fee would be a bargain for a player with the quality that Asensio possesses and Villa supporters would love to have him back in B6 beyond the end of the current campaign.

The PSG loanee will get the chance to get revenge on the French club when the sides meet in the Champions League quarter-finals, and if he performs well, it may be the final bit of evidence that Emery needs to make a decision on his future.

Villa should take advantage of the bargain fee and secure a deal before PSG reassesses their position after his impressive form in recent weeks.

The risk involved in completing a permanent deal is incredibly low, and the potential is very high given what Asensio has already shown in the Midlands, the only issue that Villa may have is that other clubs may enter the race.
