Aston Villa set to reach Kamara agreement as Villa Park exit news emerges

Boubacar Kamara has emerged as one of Unai Emery’s most important players in the team as Aston Villa continue their journey in three competitions this season.

Villa are chasing a European spot in the Premier League as they sit ninth in the table and are also active in the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup.

Despite being a defensive midfielder, Kamara showcased his importance and versatility by slotting in the centre-back role when the situation demanded as Villa navigated through an injury crisis.

The 25-year-old midfielder’s current deal is set to expire in 2027 and there has now been a significant update regarding the player’s future at Villa Park.

Aston Villa open Kamara talks

Although the Frenchman has endured two separate injuries this season, his importance to this Villa side cannot be undermined.

Emery values his midfielder dearly and as a result, Aston Villa have opened talks with Kamara’s camp for a new contract, as per The Telegraph reporter John Percy.

The plan was to open the renewal talks with the former Marseille man after the winter transfer window and as things stand, the Villains are on schedule.

The Spanish manager counts on Kamara and wants his future to be sorted as soon as possible with an expectation that a renewal will be agreed upon without any hiccups.

The West Midlands side are aware that several sides will be interested in Kamara but they are still confident that the 25-year-old will sign a new deal and quash all the possibilities of leaving Villa Park this summer.

Villa on course of a splendid season

The Claret and the Blue will face PSG in the quarter-finals of the Champions League this month. If Emery can mastermind a win against PSG and guide Villa to the Champions League semi-finals, their exploits in the European competition can be termed successful.

In the FA Cup, the West Midlands side face Championship side Preston North End and are the favourites to go through to the semi-final stage. With just four points separating Villa from the fourth place, they are also in the race for Champions League spots.

Villa’s results in the next couple of weeks will determine if they have had a successful season or not.
