Ian Wright says Morgan Rogers can do one thing better than any England player
Aston Villa now have several players shining on the international stage, and the latest star to be recognised is Morgan Rogers.
Rogers has been outstanding since his arrival at Aston Villa last year, and has been one of the club’s best performers this season.
The 22-year-old has now been called up to the England squad, and made his first start for his country against Latvia at Wembley.
The midfielder lined up alongside Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham in a midfield three for England, and there was a key reason why Thomas Tuchel decided to select him ahead of more experienced options.

Ian Wright heaps praise on Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers
Speaking on ITV1 coverage (March 24, 7.35pm) ahead of England vs Latvia, former England striker Ian Wright heaped praise on Rogers, and claimed that his ability to attack the box from deep positions is his best attribute.
“Great power, and a great balance of power and technical ability he’s got,” Wright stated of Rogers.
“The way he can just drift and pull off of the centre-forward, then he can put himself on the shoulders of the defenders, and he can get the ball when it’s played through to him.
“The thing that he can do more than anything else is he will get in the box. He will take people on, he will have a shot. He will try and score.

“We (England) need that dynamism today, we didn’t have it the other day, it’s a great opportunity for him to show it.”
Rogers was preferred to Phil Foden and Eberechi Eze for his first start, with his fearlessness in front of goal preferred despite his relative inexperience.

How Morgan Rogers adds additional goal threat and dynamism
Rogers has been a revelation in the Villa side since he joined from Middlesbrough over a year ago, and he already has 15 goals to his name under Unai Emery.
The midfielder is unstoppable when it comes to runs into the box, bringing an excellent blend of speed and power combined with a strong vision for goal.
Having this extra threat from deep positions is a blessing for any manager, and will help take the goalscoring burden off Harry Kane for England.
The Villa star has succeeded in playing off Ollie Watkins upfront at club level, and they will both hope to replicate their excellence on the International stage at next year’s World Cup.
