‘Aston Villa must sign Asensio now’ after what happened in Middle East

Marco Asensio has proved to be a superb piece of business for Aston Villa on an initial loan.

The Spaniard completed a temporary switch from PSG to Villa Park late on in the winter window alongside Marcus Rashford.

Both loanees have proved to have an excellent start to life in B6 but it is the former Real Madrid man who has certainly captured the headlines under Unai Emery.

The 29-year-old has once again proved his quality as the Villans played a friendly in the UAE during the international break.

Asensio scores wondergoal v Al-Ain

Asensio has come in and netted goals against Club Brugge, Chelsea and Cardiff City in what has been the perfect start to life in B6.

The three-time Champions League winner has become accustomed to a goal at the Holte End as the whole stadium bounces while singing his name.

The phrase ‘Never fall in love with a loan player’ echoes around Villa Park on a matchday but it is hard not to when they’re this good.

Seven goals in just eight games in all competitions can not be ignored and have already led to questions about the attacking midfielder signing permanently.

These conversations have already gotten louder among the Villa faithful after he scored a wonderful volley in the UAE against Al-Ain on Thursday (20 March).

The ex-PSG man latched on to a lofted Boubacar Kamara pass and struck it first time into the roof of the net from inside the penalty area.

If Emery hadn’t already seen enough from the Spaniard, that has to be the cherry on the icing on the cake to sign him in the summer.

Asensio has earnt Aston Villa permanent move

If the Villans aren’t to make the move for the attacking midfielder permanent, there is nothing more he could do to prove his worth.

The Spain international has shown his class when it comes to his ability on the ball, his varying range of movement and his finishing.

These will all rub off well on his peers with Morgan Rogers already showing positive signs of development since linking up with the winter signing.

It will certainly be interesting to see if Villa will make the loan move permanent and how much Asensio will cost if that is to be done.
