‘Monchi pulls of latest transfer masterclass’ amid £12.6m Aston Villa development
Monchi has done some excellent transfer business since being named as president of football operations at Aston Villa.
The PSR situation in B6 was dangerous in the summer but the Spaniard worked to find a way around it while building a competitive squad.
Douglas Luiz departed for Juventus to save the Villans from a points deduction and allowed other star names like Amadou Onana to come in.
With a view to having another positive transfer window, the former Sevilla chief has pulled off yet another smart move at Villa Park.

Kosta Nedeljkovic to sign for RB Leipzig
Nedeljkovic signed for Villa in January 2023 but stayed at Red Star Belgrade for the rest of the campaign before moving to the Midlands last summer.
Despite a positive preseason, Unai Emery clearly didn’t trust the teenager and limited him to just five Premier League appearances.
This resulted in a mid-season switch to RB Leipzig where the Serbia international has seemingly impressed under Marco Rose.
The 19-year-old is now expected to remain at the Red Bull Arena beyond the summer as the Bundesliga outfit looks set to activate their £12.6million purchase clause [Philipp Hinze, 17 March].
Given that the Villans signed the right back for a reported £6.5m just over a year ago, they have doubled their money on a player who wasn’t getting a game in B6.
This can only be viewed as a positive piece of business, especially with PSR in mind ahead of the upcoming window.

Monchi gives Aston Villa latest PSR boost
The winter transfer window has proved to have an excellent impact on the Villans and has pushed them forward in the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup.
Marcus Rashford came in on loan from Manchester United and has gone on to provide four assists in an excellent run so far.
Arguably the signing of the window was Marco Asensio who has gone on to score seven goals already and doesn’t look like stopping.

With this level of player coming in, sales are going to be necessary for the Villans and Nedeljkovic could prove to be the fall guy.
The Serb played very limited minutes and could make over £6m in profit if his move to Germany goes through.
This is yet another positive deal from Monchi who looks set to once again show his worth in his role alongside Emery and Damian Vidagany at Bodymoor Heath.
