Aston Villa set for UEFA cash windfall in ‘phenomenal’ £300m reveal – Exclusive
Aston Villa could be on course to post club-record revenue in their 2025 accounts after their UEFA Champions League success.
Unai Emery’s side have impressed in the Champions League this season, qualifying to the knockout phase as a top-eight side and beating Club Brugge 3-1 in the first leg of their Round of 16 tie on Tuesday (4 March) to place one foot in the quarter-finals.
After the conclusion of the league stage in January, football finance expert Swiss Ramble explained that Aston Villa have pocketed around £60million in revenue from the competition this season.
With the Birmingham-based club just 90 minutes away from a quarter-final berth, they are set to add more money to their coffers.
Liverpool €100m (£84m) boosted by finishing top of the league, while Arsenal €91m (£77m) came third. Manchester City helped by having highest value pillar, earning €77m (£65m). Dan Plumley reveals Champions League cash windfall for Aston Villa
Looking at Aston Villa’s Champions League progress, Dan Plumley has revealed that they will receive another £10.5m if they progress into the quarter-finals, where they can earn £12.6m and £15.5m more if they qualify for the semi-finals and final respectively.
The football finance expert says that Villa could push their overall revenue to a “phenomenal” £300m in their 2025 accounts, considering they recorded an income of £218m in 2018.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Plumley said: “Every round will generate an additional value, so qualification for the quarter-finals, that carries an additional £10.5m in terms of getting through and then you would have an additional payment, £12.6m for the semi-final, £15.5m for the final as well.
“[It’s] looking like they’ll get through to the quarter-finals, that’ll be an extra £10.5m.
“Some of the estimates from Swiss Ramble already after the league phase suggest that Villa are in for about £58.75m already.
“We’ve not seen the value pillar yet, but those are the estimates, and that’s in a good ballpark, so they’ve already earned £58.75m as we’re talking right now, another £10.5m if you get through and beat Brugge, and they’re already pretty well set for that.

Emery to lead Villa to club-record figure
“If you look at that in the context of the club as well, their overall revenue in 2023 was £218m.
“We’ve not seen 2024 figures, but by 2025, with Champions League alone, that could be pushing on the door of £300m revenue, so a phenomenal achievement on the pitch for them, and another £10.5m to add if they can get over the line against Brugge next week.”
Stage | Revenue | Cumulative Figure |
Qualify for Round of 16 | £60m (Achieved) | £60m |
Qualify for Quarter-final | £10.5m (Lead 3-1 v Club Brugge after first leg) | £70.5m |
Qualify for Semi-final | £12.6m (Remains to be seen) | £83.1m |
Qualify for Final | £15.5m (Remains to be seen) | £98.6m |
Villa’s revenue surged from £218m to a club-record £260m in 2023-24, according to Deloitte‘s estimates.
This means that the Premier League are on course to break their record again this time around, thanks to their progress in the Champions League.
