Fabrizio Romano reacts as Marco Asensio sends message to Aston Villa fans

Marco Asensio has proved to be an excellent loan addition since signing for Aston Villa during the winter transfer window.

The Spaniard has already netted five goals in claret and blue, kicking off his spell in B6 in style, endearing himself to the Villa faithful immediately.

The 29-year-old netted his latest strike from the penalty spot against Club Brugge on Tuesday (4 March) in an excellent 3-1 away from home in the Champions League.

Since this moment from 12 yards, the PSG loanee has reached out to the B6 faithful and has been met by reaction from transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.

It is safe to say that Villa’s winter loan signings have done well to prove themselves under Unai Emery in a short period since moving to the West Midlands.

Despite going somewhat under the radar, Axel Disasi has proved his utility within the squad already.

In the forward line, it is safe to say that Asensio has impressed, already linking up with Marcus Rashford to devastating effect.

This wasn’t the case against the Belgian side as the ex-Real Madrid man entered the pitch as the England international left but managed to have the desired impact.

His strike helped the Villans to secure a win and in reaction to the result, shared a message to supporters on Instagram (5 March).

He said: “UCL nights. Up the Villa.”

This was met with a reaction from transfer guru Romano who commented a fire emoji, sharing the feelings of the travelling supporters in Brugge.

Aston Villa find gem in Asensio

It is fair to say that Monchi is deserving of some praise after recent results given how his new signings have performed to help secure positive results.

None of the new additions have had as much of an impact as Asensio, who has ultimately secured three wins for Villa in three different competitions.

The win against Chelsea in the Premier League came off the back of a late brace while similar can be said of the FA Cup victory against Cardiff City.

After the win in Brugge, it will be interesting to see if the attacking midfielder can keep up this run of excellent form.

It will then be a question of whether the Villans opt to complete a permanent move in the summer.
