Jamie O’Hara cannot believe Aston Villa ‘Nightmare’ after what he saw

Jamie O’Hara has been left baffled by Aston Villa after they lost to Crystal Palace.

Selhurst Park hosted Unai Emery’s team in the Premier League on Tuesday (26 February), and the visitors were smashed 4-1.

Ismaila Sarr gave Palace the lead in the first half before Morgan Rogers equalised for the Villans right after the break.

Jean-Philippe Mateta restored the Eagles’ lead before Sarr scored his second, and Eddie Nketiah found the back of the net in stoppage time.

O’Hara stunned by Aston Villa in the Premier League

O’Hara is amazed to see the Villans drop down the Premier League table after their loss at Selhurst Park.

Sitting 10th in the Premier League, the ex-midfielder wonders what’s gone wrong at the Birmingham club after Palace outplayed Emery’s team with ease at times.

Speaking live on talkSPORT (25 February, 22:34), O’Hara said: “[Villa] got absolutely battered.

“What’s going on with them at the moment? They’re having a bit of a nightmare. They’re down to 10th.”

Villa Park faithful want to see consistency from Emery

After what has been a fruitful period under Emery at Villa, cracks are seemingly starting to appear as prospects have dwindled recently.

The Lions exceeded expectations last season after finishing in the top four and qualifying for the Champions League.

Club Brugge will be the Villans’ opponents in the round of 16, and fans will be confident of progressing further in a huge achievement.

While Emery has done well in the Champions League, the Villans have seen their form dip domestically in the current campaign.

The Birmingham outfit are still alive in the FA Cup but were knocked out early from the Carabao Cup.

Despite sitting 10th in the Premier League, the Lions are only four points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, and a Champions League spot is still within reach.

Considering the packed schedule and relatively small squad at Emery’s disposal, he has done a brilliant job so far keeping his team alive in most competitions.

The Villans reinforced in the winter transfer window after signing the likes of Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio, which should give them a boost to push on until the end of the season.
