Morgan Rogers fails shock Aston Villa lie detector test question
Morgan Rogers has been forced into an admission about Aston Villa’s bitter local rivals West Brom in a new interview.
The 22-year-old started his career in the Villans local rivals’ youth academy before moving to Manchester City in 2019.
He made the switch to Villa Park in February 2024 after a stint in the Championship with Middlesbrough and has notched ten goal contributions in 24 Premier League matches this season.
His stunning rise has seen him earn two senior England caps this campaign and he made a confession that might rub Villa supporters the wrong way.

Rogers lie detected in West Brom answer
When asked by Rising Ballers (18 February) whether he felt guilty for joining the Villa Park outfit after playing for the Baggies, Rogers said no.
However, his answer was revealed as a lie and he opened up on his love for his former club, saying: “I won’t say guilt, yeah I have a love for West Brom.
“Obviously, it’s the team that I grew up playing for from a young age, so I have a love there.
“I don’t know if I feel guilty for it because football is football, it is what it is, but it’s not like I don’t care about West Brom, forget them.”
Rogers set for starring role at Aston Villa
The England international has emerged as a potent threat in Unai Emery’s attack this season and is in the middle of a stunning rise to stardom that has the potential to skyrocket to a new level.
Rogers has started 24 of the B6 outfit’s 25 Premier League matches this campaign only missing the 2-1 win over Leicester on 4 January.
His exploits have continued in the Champions League as he scored a hat-trick against Celtic in the final league-phase clash (29 January) that secured Villa’s automatic progression to the round of 16.
Stats 24/25 (All comps) | Rogers |

It may not please Villa supporters to hear their star man talking so favourably about a rival team but it shows how humble he is and that he has not forgotten his roots.
The two-cap Three Lions ace could become one of the best attackers in the game if he continues his current trajectory and it is important to recognise where it all began rather than forgetting the journey.
If he does take the next step in his game, the next question will be whether the Villans can maintain Champions League football to match his ambitions and ability.
