Aston Villa fans in hysterics as Birmingham City announce new transfer – ‘Shame’
Aston Villa fans have been in hysterics after comparing their winter transfers to Birmingham City’s on deadline day.
Unai Emery added Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford and Paris Saint-Germain’s Marco Asensio to the ranks before the 11pm deadline, though fans were more inclined to poke fun at their rivals.
Birmingham announced their signing of Taylor Gardner-Hickman in spectacular fashion, linking to a video of him crawling back on the pitch during a game, and Villa supporters found it rather funny.
While one fan simply just replied with a laughing emoji, another wrote: “While we were signing a three-time Champions League winner, these lot are signing random plumbers.”
Safe to say, Villans believe they had a much more successful transfer window than their Midlands rivals.

Villa can be truly excited about the prospect of Rashford and Asensio joining the squad for the second half of the season, especially with the need to replace Jhon Duran.
The Colombian’s big-money move to Saudi Arabia left Emery in desperate need of a new attacker, with the likes of Leon Bailey and Jacob Ramsey struggling for form recently.
With the Blues still in League One, albeit topping the league table after 27 matches with 63 points from a possible 81, the two rivals are worlds apart.
Villa will be hoping to climb as far up the Premier League table as possible this term, also hoping to make it as far as possible in the Champions League after qualifying automatically for the round of 16.
There is always bound to be arguments between the two sets of fans on social media but the banter on transfer deadline day was quite humorous, with fans on the edge of their seat right up until 11pm.
Luckily for Emery, the Villans got their business done early, leading to no last-gasp stress at Villa Park.
