Aston Villa shock as another ace lined up for last-gasp exit before 3 February

Manchester United are considering making a move to take Leon Bailey from Aston Villa, according to Dharmesh Sheth.

The Sky Sports News reporter shared (1 February), that the Red Devils are weighing up a number of players to make a move for before the 3 February deadline, with Bailey being on that list.

However, if a move was made to gain the Jamaica winger’s services, this would be separate from any potential Marcus Rashford deal in the opposite direction.

Leon Bailey set for Aston Villa departure?

Bailey has shown he has the ability to be a quality player at Villa Park and notching 10 goals and nine assists in the Premier League last season was reflective of that.

However, this term has been a slower one for the 27-year-old who has scored just one goal and provided two assists in the current campaign.

Furthermore, Unai Emery seems to have taken a preference towards the contributions of Jacob Ramsey this season, while Donyell Malen has also arrived, leaving the winger to settle for more time on the bench.

With a deal for Rashford seemingly close to completion [Fabrizio Romano, 2 February], something that the boss wants to get done, this suggests Bailey would move even further down the pecking order if Emery can find Rashford’s best form again.

Therefore, if the Red Devils did want to make a move for the Jamaican before the transfer deadline, it is a deal that all parties could be willing to sanction.

If Bailey stays put at Villa, supporters won’t complain about what he can contribute from his current position but if he did leave the West Midlands, you can imagine he’d go with well wishes too.
