Unai Emery ‘makes Lamare Bogarde error’ in confirmed Aston Villa XI v Wolves
Unai Emery has made a mistake by starting Lamare Bogarde after making two changes to his Aston Villa starting XI for the trip to face Wolves.
John McGinn and new signing Andres Garcia have come into the Villans’ starting XI on Saturday (1 February) for the derby clash at Molineux.
This has seen Leon Bailey and Matty Cash drop out of the side from the midweek Champions League win against Celtic at Villa Park on Wednesday (29 October).
With such a frustrating record after European fixtures for the B6 club, Emery will be hoping to secure three points to help prove how good his side is.
Aston Villa make two changes to face Wolves
As always, there is no need for a change in goal for the Villans with Emi Martinez keeping his place after making two saves against the Hoops last time out [FotMob].
The defence has a familiar feel with Ezri Konsa, Lucas Digne and Boubacar Kamara all starting once again and will be joined by newbie Garcia.
This has seen Bogarde keep his place in midfield despite the young Dutchman maintaining a zero per cent dribble success rate last time out, which could be a concern against the Old Gold.
John McGinn has come in from the start alongside Youri Tielemans after his 100 per cent tackle success as a substitute against his boyhood club.
In the forward line, it is no surprise to see Morgan Rogers keep his place after scoring a hat-trick against Celtic, while also having seven shots. He is set to be joined by Jacob Ramsey once again.
Ollie Watkins will lead the line ahead of this trio after winning three duels while contributing to three goals in B6 on Wednesday (29 February).
