Tottenham make move to hijack Aston Villa deal as personal terms agreed

Aston Villa have agreed personal terms with Chelsea defender Axel Disasi with the Frenchman expected to make a decision soon, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The well-renowned football journalist reported via his X account [1 February] that Villa have agreed personal terms with Disasi with Tottenham also having made an approach for the centre-back.

Following the departure of Diego Carlos, Villa have been in the market for defensive reinforcements with Disasi evidently high up on their list of priorities.

Tottenham are looking to hijack the deal according to Romano, but with Villa having already agreed personal terms, a decision could be made very soon.

Axel Disasi to Aston Villa?

Given the departure of Carlos and ongoing injury concerns for Tyrone Mings, a centre-back arrival is paramount for Villa if they are to go on and achieve Champions League qualification this season.

Disasi, although he hasn’t featured much at Stamford Bridge, would be an excellent addition to Unai Emery’s squad and would slot into the left side of defence seamlessly.

His physical attributes would be a welcome addition to Villa Park and compliment those around him perfectly and with years of development ahead of him, he will only grow as a player with more and more experience.

Villa will have to act fast to secure his signature with Spurs also said to be keen on a deal ahead of the deadline on 3 February.
