Morgan Rogers ‘crashes down to earth’ after what happened in Wolves 2-0 Aston Villa
Morgan Rogers came back down to earth with a bang during the Aston Villa defeat against Wolves.
Once again, the Villans have failed to win a Premier League fixture coming directly after a midweek Champions League clash.
Just three days ago, Unai Emery’s side secured a top-eight place in Europe’s elite competition with a 4-2 win against Celtic, creating an electric atmosphere around Villa Park.
There was hope that this performance in B6 could be carried over to the clash at Molineux but once again, that was not the case.
Morgan Rogers struggled for Aston Villa v Wolves
The England international scored a hat-trick and was awarded the Player of the Round award by UEFA in what was a perfect night’s work against the Hoops.
With that being said, there was such a drop off from that performance to his showing against Wolves which contributed to the result being as frustrating as it was.
The 22-year-old remained on the pitch for the full 90 minutes but only clocked up 32 touches and 17 passes, which isn’t high given how much space he had at times [Sofascore].
Even when the forward did pick up the ball, he failed to drive forward effectively, suffering with a zero per cent dribble success from his three attempts.
This made it difficult for him to create chances, which he didn’t do, especially given he clocked up a cross accuracy of just 33 per cent.
The Englishman was caught offside twice, while also being dispossessed the same number of times, which sums up his night.

This saw Rogers lose nine duels throughout the night which just isn’t good enough against a side that had lost their last three games.
With the highs that the ex-Manchester City man and the Villa fans felt against Celtic, it is fair to say the Villans let supporters and themselves down at Molineux.
