Unai Emery axes Leon Bailey in three changes – Aston Villa predicted XI v Wolves

Unai Emery could axe Leon Bailey in three changes to the Aston Villa starting XI against Wolves on Saturday.

The Spaniard could hand Andres Garcia his debut for the Villans while also potentially welcoming Tyrone Mings and John McGinn back into the fold at Molineux on 1 February.

This could see the Jamaica international winger drop out alongside Lamare Bogarde and Matty Cash with the latter going off with an injury against Celtic.

Coming off the back of securing a place in the Champions League top eight, the B6 club should be full of confidence and be keen to secure a derby win off the back of that.

There is an element of tiredness that has plagued the Villans after European clashes this season but there aren’t many changes that can be made.

Ahead of the Argentine, Lucas Digne and Ezri Konsa could keep their places after winning a combined four duels against Celtic.

This duo could be joined by Tyrone Mings who may be fit to return against Wolves while Emery could also hand a Villa debut to Andres Garcia as an alternative to Matty Cash.

These changes at the back could see Boubacar Kamara push further forward after completing the most passes on the pitch from centre-back at Villa Park with 82. The Frenchman could be joined by Youri Tielemans and John McGinn after the latter was a first-half substitute last time out.

This could see the Scotland international replace Leon Bailey in the starting XI after he completed just 40 per cent of dribbles while losing four duels against Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Ahead of the trio, Jacob Ramsey and Morgan Rogers could keep their places with the former Manchester City man scoring a hattrick against the Hoops after taking six shots on the night.

Up front, with Jhon Duran seemingly on his way out, Ollie Watkins looks set to start again after assisting two and scoring one in the Champions League while also completing one dribble and winning three duels. He will be hopeful of getting on the scoresheet once again for the Villans.

In other Aston Villa news, an approach has been made for Marco Asensio who is said to be ready for a transfer.
