‘Haaland wages met’ as Aston Villa agree blockbuster exit deal
Jhon Duran is expected to be earning as much as Erling Haaland after leaving Aston Villa.
As confirmed via Aston Villa’s official website on Friday (31 January), Duran has completed a move to Al-Nassr, with the 21-year-old widely criticised for this transfer decision.
Villa have made a significant amount of money from the sale, and could yet profit further down the line with a specific clause mooted to have been included in the transfer.
And ex-Villa scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – believes Duran will now be earning as much as Haaland is earning at Manchester City.
“A young player with a great potential is now going to be playing in an average league,” King said.
“Duran is only going there for one thing, and that is money, which he will obviously earn an awful lot of. He’s got the opportunity to go, good luck to him, he’s going to earn a lot of money.
“If he is sensible, he won’t have to worry about another move as he will be able to retire. I’d like to see the figures involved here, I’d imagine we’re talking somewhere in the region of Haaland’s contract at Manchester City.”
Jhon Duran earning as much as Erling Haaland after Aston Villa exit?
Duran has no doubt headed to the Saudi Pro League to make a serious amount of money.
Plenty of people might have been surprised by the striker’s decision, as the majority of players who make the move to Saudi Arabia tend to be coming toward the end of their careers and searching for one final payday.
However, with tension mooted between Duran and Ollie Watkins, an exit for one of the two felt inevitable.

And this was probably the best possible outcome for Villa as the club makes a lot of money, while Duran doesn’t move to a direct rival.
In other Aston Villa news, the club have opened talks to sign Manchester United star Marcus Rashford.
