Neil Lennon wowed by ‘World-Class’ Aston Villa v Celtic moment – ‘Oh my goodness’
Neil Lennon has been left wowed by Arne Engels’ “world-class” touch in the Champions League clash between Aston Villa and Celtic.
The attacking midfielder helped draw things level at Celtic Park after his “fabulous” touch helped get the Bhoys on their way into Unai Emery’s men’s box.
Speaking live on TNT Sports (29 January), former Celtic boss Lennon shared his thoughts on the performance of Brendan Rodgers’ men, who drew level through Adam Idah’s double before half-time only to lose 4-2 thanks to Ollie Watkins’ effort and Morgan Rogers completing his hat-trick at Villa Park on Wednesday (29 January).
“Oh my goodness that is fabulous, absolutely fabulous. what a goal this is. The touch from Engels, around the corner is simply world-class,” he said.
“It’s another wonderful finish. That is magnificent. What a great goal from Celtic.”
Aston Villa needed to do better against Celtic
Although Villa managed to get off to an impressive start after they netted the first two goals of the game in the first five minutes of the clash, it was disappointing to see the lead surrendered by the break.
Going into the fixture, Villa were the favourites to come out victorious despite Celtic’s domination of the Scottish Premiership this season.
While the game was certainly intriguing for the neutral, Villa fans were in for a rollercoaster of an evening, which ultimately ended their way.

Victory also means qualification directly to the last-16 of Europe’s premier competition and means they don’t have a couple of extra fixtures in the play-off round.
And that is certainly good news on a day where it looked like Jhon Duran is now likely on his way out.
